Best-Selling Author Michael G. Thompson, Ph.D., is Returning to Chatham!

“The Pressured Child” is, in fact, a presentation for “pressured parents” who have forgotten what school is actually like. It is for parents who are gripped by worries and misapprehensions about their children’s life in school. There are three kinds of children in school: 1) those whose journeys are characterized mostly by success, 2) those whose journeys are characterized by a chronic but manageable struggle, and 3) those whose journeys are characterized by fury and despair. Each journey has its own different pressures. The event will be on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Chatham High School Auditorium.

2012 Natural High T-Shirt and Poster Design Contest

Dear Middle and High School Students,

Unleash your creative side for a chance to win!

You are invited to participate in the 2012 Natural High T-Shirt and Poster Design Contest. If you wish to participate, create an original design and/or artwork to capture the theme of Natural Highs--something fun you enjoy doing that is substance free (examples: sports, fine arts, writing, cooking, your choice!) You may also create a design/artwork illustrating why you would choose a Natural High over a Chemical High (examples: drugs, alcohol, etc.). Again, be creative.

Please submit a poster and/or a T-shirt design. Both will be judged separately by The Morris County Partners in Substance Abuse Prevention and the Community Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Morris (CCSHM). The T-Shirt contest winner will receive a prize and have their T-shirt design made into an actual T-shirt that will be distributed at the 2012 Natural High Skating Event on March 22, 2012 at the Meenen Arena from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The poster contest winner will receive a prize and have their poster displayed at the Natural High Skating Event and at various locations in Morris County.
