November 2, 2019, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Parsippany Main Library
At some time, most of us have jumped to conclusions about someone based on our views of their race, religion, nationality, or appearance. Our views may come from common stereotypes we learned growing up and act as barriers to connecting with others who are different in some way.
This free workshop will present a panel of individuals from groups that are often stereotyped to help us recognize and re-think views that cause division and conflict.
After the panel, Dr. Debbie Almontaser, a highly-regarded educator and authority on cross-cultural understanding, will discuss stereotypes and show us how to more easily communi-cate with, appreciate, and respect people with backgrounds different to our own.
Presented by Women in Unity, a group of local women who build unity through friend-ship and understanding, and stand against discrimination and injustice. On Facebook at Women In Unity Rockaway, NJ
