CURBSIDE RECYCLING DO’S AND DON’TS
Always put your recycling out to the curb the night before your collection day. The Township recycling trucks start at 6 a.m.
Corrugated cardboard
Must be flattened and tied in bundles not larger than 3’ by 3’ or stacked in another box. Please note that cereal, pizza, and gift boxes, etc. are classified as chipboard and should be put into your regular garbage.
Newspaper and Magazines
Must be cross-tied with twine and bundled no higher than 12". DO NOT put your newspapers and magazines in plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or loosely in a container. If you do, they will NOT be picked up.
Commingled
The following items can be recycled together in a container. Glass jars and bottles, plastic bottles coded with the number 1 or 2 on the bottom, and tin and aluminum containers. DO NOT put paint cans or aerosol cans in with your recyclables. Also mirrors, drinking glasses, ceramics, plastic bags, window glass, aluminum foil or trays and ALL types of plastic flowerpots are NOT recyclable. Remember: Do Not put your recyclables in a plastic bag or paper bag. They will NOT be picked up.
Vegetative & Yard Waste
All vegetative waste including grass clippings, leaves, twigs, garden refuse, shrub trimmings, and tree branches up to 3 inches in diameter and up to 3 feet long must be recycled. Plastic bags are prohibited for vegetative waste. Large paper bags or hard reusable containers (Maximum 60 lbs.) properly marked "Yard Waste" must be used. Branches, twigs and brush must be tied in bundles.
(Curbside pickup will start April 9, 2007 and will end December 7, 2007.)
IMPORTANT: No logs or stumps will be picked up at curbside.
