The Parsippany Recreation Office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM., located opposite the Community Center. Please call (973) 263-7257 or stop in with your comments or ideas. We are always receptive to suggestions for programs and encourage people to work or volunteer for many of our planned activities.

Picnic Area Reservations
The Township requires groups of 25 or more to have permits to use the picnic areas at Smith Field Park, Volunteers Park, Knoll Park, Lake Parsippany Park and Lenni Lenape Park. Permits for use of parks begins March 1st or the first Monday of the month if the 1st falls on a weekend. Reservations can be made in person at the Recreation Office on Country Club Drive.

BASKETBALL – BOY’S PACERS

Grades 5 through 8.

 

Four traveling teams play in the Lakeland

 

League according to grade level.

 

Registration is in SEPTEMBER.

 

 

BASKETBALL – GIRL’S PACERS

Grades 4 through 6 & 7 through 8.

 

Two traveling teams play in the Garden
State Girl’s Basketball League.

 

Registration is in SEPTEMBER.

 

 

BOWLING

Ages 4 through 8 (Pee Wee).

 

Ages 9 through 14 (Juniors).

Registration begins in August and goes through SEPTEMBER
(at the Lanes).

HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARADE

Grades pre-school through 4th.

 

A costume parade with prizes awarded for originality.

 

PARENT & TOT PROGRAM

Ages 2-1/2 and 3-1/2 years old. Allows

 

young children to meet and play together. Registration is in AUGUST.

The Morris County Adaptive

 

Recreational Program provides classified residents with recreational activities that are offered year-round.

This Saturday morning program offers games, arts and crafts, singing, story- telling, and more. Held at the Knoll Activity Center in the Knoll Park & Country Club from 9:30am until 12 Noon.

SOFTBALL – MEN’S ADULT FALL LEAGUE

A league that extends the season to

 

September and October.

 

Registration is in AUGUST.

 

TENNIS LESSONS

All ages.

 

A clinic set up to help you improve your game. Performance drills, proper stroke mechanics, shot selection, game situation, court positioning and strategy.

 

Registration is in SEPTEMBER

Ages 18 and up. A recreational league. Games held once or twice a week September through February.

Grades 2 through 4

 

This eight week program teaches the basic fundamentals of basketball. 
Registration is in NOVEMBER.

Grades 2 through 5.

 

A winter long program teaching the fundamentals of basketball to be able to put acquired skills into practice by playing in a league.
Registration is in NOVEMBER.

This is an arts and crafts program. Classes start in January.

JIGSAW PUZZLE CONTEST

Grades K through 5.

  A puzzle assembling contest with age group divisions.  Prizes are awarded.

SANTA’S ARRIVAL and CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

Santa arrives in early December by fire truck to light the Christmas Trees at Town Hall.  Children visit with Santa and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate.

EASTER BUNNY VISIT

Ages 3 through 10.
An opportunity for youngsters to
meet the Easter Bunny. Bring a basket or bag to hold your Easter treats. Pictures may be taken.

 

 

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

The Township will commemorate Memorial Day with a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park and a parade. The day has been set aside to honor our veterans.Participation of the many civic groups and businesses in Parsippany would be greatly appreciated.

Grades 3 through 7. This six- week clinic meets three times a week to continue basketball education and give new players a start. Registration is in JUNE.

PLAYGROUND – ALL DAY – SUMMER

1st grade completed through 7th grade. A camp for children of working parents. Held Monday through Friday (weekdays for eight weeks). Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Supervised play activities. Registration is in APRIL.

 

 

PLAYGROUND – HALF DAY – SUMMER

Kindergarten completed through 7 th grade. This eight week program offers activities weekdays from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

All ages. Beginners, advanced beginners and intermediates welcome. Lessons are Monday through Thursday evenings for two weeks. Registration is in MAY and JUNE.

 

 

TENNIS – WOMEN’S TEAM

Ages 18 and up. Team represents Parsippany in the Northwestern League. League plays from mid-June into August. Registration is in MAY.

 

 
TOT TIME Ages 3 to 6
 

This afternoon program offers games, arts and crafts, singing, story telling, and more. Held at the Knoll picnic area outdoors in the Knoll Park & Country Club from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM. Two 4 week programs held Monday through Thursday with Fridays used as a rain date.
