CURBSIDE RECYCLING DO’S AND DONT'S
Always put out your recycling at the curb the night before your collection day. The Township recycling trucks start at 6 a.m.
Corrugated cardboard
Must be flattened and tied in bundles not larger than 3’ by 3’ or stacked in another box.
Mixed Paper
Mixed Paper consists of newspaper, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, telephone books, chipboard (cerel, pizza, and gift boxes), softcover books, and office paper. These items may be cross-tied with twine and bundled no higher than 12 inches or they may be placed in brown paper bags, a milk crate or paper recycling bin. PAPER CAN NOT BE PLACED IN A GARBAGE CAN OR PLASTIC BAG.
Comingled
The following items can be recycled together in a container. Glass jars and bottles, plastic bottles coded with the number 1 or 2 on the bottom and tin and aluminum containers. DO NOT put paint cans or aerosol cans in with your recyclables. Mirrors, drinking glasses, ceramics, plastic bags, window glass, aluminum foil or trays and all types of plastic flowerpots are NOT recyclable. Remember: DO NOT put your recyclables in a plastic bag or paper bag. They will NOT be picked up.
Vegetative & Yard Waste
All vegetative waste including grass clippings, leaves, twigs, garden refuse, shrub trimmings and tree branches up to 3 inches in diameter and up to 3 feet long must be recycled. Plastic bags are prohibited for vegetative waste. Large paper bags or hard reusable containers (maximum 60 lbs.) properly marked "Yard Waste" must be used. Branches, twigs and brush must be tied in bundles.
(Curbside pickup will start April 7, 2008 and will end December 5, 2008.)
IMPORTANT: No logs or stumps will be picked up at curbside.
ARE YOU PLANNING TO MOVE???
The Township will accept several extra bags of garbage at curbside on your second pickup, but you must contact a private hauler (located in the phone book under rubbish removal) to arrange for a container for the removal of all large items. The Sanitation Department is not obligated to pickup up the contents of a whole house at the curb.
Residents will be subject to a summons if these instructions are not followed.

How to dispose of syringes and lancets in Morris County, N.J.
If you are a Morris County resident and have diabetes -- or another medical condition that makes you dependent upon injections -- PLEASE DO NOT THROW OUT YOUR USED SYRINGES! They are not accepted at either of the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority’s transfer stations, at the Morris County Recycling Consolidation Center or at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Recycling Center because of their potentially hazardous nature.
Instead, you should take part in one of two Syringe Disposal Programs offered by local hospitals.
For more information about a program in your area, please contact either of the following:
St. Clare’s Hospital (Dover and Denville Campuses) – (973) 625-6779
Morristown Memorial Hospital (Morristown) – (973) 971-5271
Chilton Memorial Hospital (Pompton Plains) - (973) 831-5010
By participating in a Safe Syringe Disposal Program, you are not only protecting the environment and keeping your home safe, you are considering the health and well being of the sanitation workers.
