Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Department of Emergency Medical Services

About

Par-Troy Emergency Medical Services, inspected and licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, was established by the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills to provide prompt, professional emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of the township. Our municipal ambulance service provides quality care and expedient transport of the sick and injured to the appropriate regional hospitals.  Continual education and professional development allow our employees to leverage the newest equipment and advanced treatment protocols to minimize injury and decrease disability of our patients when time is the most critical.

History

Established in 2002, the department has grown along with the township and now responds to over 3600 requests for service yearly. By dynamically positioning our two staffed ambulances based on call volume, vital equipment and professional providers are responding with seconds and with average response times to scene of less than 7 minutes. In  conjunction  with  the Parsippany Police Department, Parsippany's  two  volunteer  ambulance  squads,  six fire districts and Rescue and Recovery Unit, the  department  strives to  quickly deliver  patients to  definitive care and the appropriate receiving facility.  For life threatening emergencies, two paramedics from either Saint Clares Hospital or Atlantic Mobile Heath may also respond in quick response vehicles to provide advanced level life support.  Comparable to mobile emergency rooms, MICUs are hospital based, providing regional service in cooperation with municipal ambulances.

Community Service

In an effort to decrease injuries in the community, the Department of Emergency Medical Services also participates in numerous educational/injury prevention initiatives with Safe Kids of Northern New Jersey including car seat inspections/installations, the senior Car Fit program, Walk This Way pedestrian safety events, Share the Keys Teen driving program as well as the Every 15 minutes program for area high schools. Please don't hesitate to contact our office at 973-263-7387 if you have any questions regarding these opportunities or would like to schedule an appointment.
