WATER REPAIRER 1, GRADE H3

Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Must be available to work emergency and non-emergency overtime hours, including weekends and holidays. Must have a telephone at which he/she can be contacted. |

Per ordinance, non-exempt blue-collar Grade H3. |

| Skills/ Duties: |
Able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English. Understand, remember and carry out oral and written instructions. Able to work for long periods in emergency situations and remain until all repairs have been made. |
| Under supervision, installs, maintains, and repairs water mains, valves, pumps, hydrants, and other equipment. Disassembles fire hydrants and valves, removes defective parts, installs new parts and reassembles. Digs trenches to remove defective pipes and installs new pipes and mains. Performs wet taps, installs water meters, repairs and replaces services. Loads and unloads trucks. Obtains safeguards and uses needed equipment, tools, materials and supplies. Maintains and operates pumping station equipment, well facilities, water treatment process equipment and electrical and/or instrumentation and controls. Operates and maintains emergency backup generators during power outages. Responds to after hour emergencies to investigate, report and make repairs to water distribution, supply and treatment equipment. Operates various landscaping equipment and snow removal and salting equipment. Record keeping and reporting. Performs other duties as assigned. Excellent benefits package provided. |

| Requirements: |
Two years minimum experience performing the above skills and job duties. Candidate must possess a valid NJ Driver's License in good standing. Must be able to drive a truck and possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or obtain one before the expiration of a 90-day probationary period. GED or High School diploma. |
