Sewage Plant Operator
Grade H4

| Workweek: |
5 Days per week, Monday – Friday -7:00am-3:30pm, with two scheduled weekend days every 4-6 weeks. Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary. Subject to change based upon the needs of the department and the Township. After notice, potential to be moved to nights (3:30pm – 11:30pm or 11:30pm – 7:30am), working 6 days on, 2 days off. |

Contractual agreement – Grade H4, $24.39 to $37.50/hour Note: The definition and examples of work for this title are for illustrative purposes only. | Skills/Duties: |
Under direction, performs varied types of manual labor. Will be trained in tasks related to the operation of mechanical equipment at the sewage treatment plant, such as operations of various machines, pumps, valves and other equipment, the reading of gages and to conduct standardized tests, and the assistance of co-workers responsible for mechanical work. |
| Requirements: |
Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English. Understand, remember and carry out oral and written instructions. Basic computer and email skills required. Able to work at heights and in confined spaces. Must be available for emergencies 24 hours a day and work overtime per CBA, and have a telephone through which he or she can be contacted. |
| License: |
Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and NJ CDL License or obtain CDL License within 90 days of hire. Must possess a valid NJDEP S (any classification) Operator’s License. |
