Full Time – Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
A minimum of one-year experience as NJ EMT or EMT-P is preferred.
Township offers Paid Training, in addition to a very generous insurance and retirement package.
Department: Emergency Medical Services
Workweek: Sunday-Saturday-varying hours 12-hour shifts
Wage: Per Ordinance – Non-Exempt Hourly Employee
Definition: Under direction, performs the duties of a New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician in accordance with NJ 8:40 & 840:A regulations, and Township policy. Additionally, must adhere to the Par-Troy EMS Standard Operating Procedures. Position includes driving an ambulance and providing emergency medical treatment, both at the scene and on the return trip to the hospital; does related duties.

Knowledge and Abilities: Perform duties of an EMT under various conditions, operate an emergency vehicle, and lift and move patients and equipment. Execute the position as outlined in the above-referenced New Jersey Administrative Code.
Position requires candidate to remain calm in emergency situations and have the ability to establish a rapport with the patient.
Ability to input electronic patient care reports on a mobile device.
Capable of understanding, remembering, and carrying out oral and written directions assigned by department leadership. Able to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English.
This position must be able to work harmoniously with others and customer service excellence is required.
Education, Experience and Certifications Required:
Possesses a valid New Jersey State Driver’s License, current New Jersey State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic (EMT-P) certification, American Heart Association BLS CPR certification, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support or equivalent. Applicant must have previously completed NIMS 700 and ICS 200. At the time of interview, the applicant must submit a certified driver’s abstract.
