Council President Judy Hernandez
Judy Hernandez resides in the Glacier Hills neighborhood of Parsippany with her husband. A New York native she came to Parsippany in 2000. She is a civil engineer and has worked in environmental consulting and construction in New York City on water and wastewater infrastructure. She has a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Manhattan College.
While raising her children she participated in Parsippany School District activities, Girl Scouts, Parsippany town and Parsippany school sports and Glacier Hills Neighborhood Association Committees. Judy has sat on the Parsippany Planning Board, the Parsippany Environmental Advisory Committee, the Parsippany Open Space Committee and was a trustee on the board for the Parsippany Child Day Care Center.
Judy’s belief is that many issues, such as the economy, environment, public health and national security, intersect and that local civic engagement and education is key to solving those problems. With Parsippany on the threshold of planning for the next generation there is opportunity to bring smart and sustainable economic and environmental strategies to build a more resilient Parsippany. Judy welcomes residents to share their comments, concerns, and ideas by contacting her at jhernandez@parsippany.net.
