Matthew Kavanagh moved to Parsippany in 2012 and resides in the Powder Mill neighborhood with his wife and two children.  He is an engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University.  He is also a Navy Veteran having attended the United States Naval Academy with a System Engineering degree.
 

Matt is the co-leader of the Parsippany Green Team, a volunteer organization to help secure sustainable initiatives in Parsippany.  Matt is currently a volunteer soccer coach for the Parsippany Soccer Club and has been for seven years.  He has had a working career in the energy sector for 20 years including 15 years in the clean energy industry in various operations, supply chain and project management roles.
 

Matt’s belief is that with the use of sustainable practices we can achieve a more harmonious future for people, the environment and the economy.   Proper infrastructure planning, fiscal responsibility and environmental stewardship can help Parsippany stay a great place to live, work and raise a family.  Matt welcomes residents to share their comments, concerns and ideas by contacting him at mkavanagh@parsippany.net.
