Each year, the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills (PTH) Water Department is pleased to present its annual Consumer Confidence Report. The link to this report is on this page in the right column. The purpose of this report is to provide the water consumers of the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills with a greater understanding of the quality of our drinking water and the system that delivers the water from the source to the user.

Responsibilities

The water utility operates, controls and maintains the Township’s water supply and distribution system, wells, well fields and all equipment and accessories for the treatment, distribution, conservation and protection of the Township water supply and water services.

The division is also responsible for the reading of meters, as well as the maintenance and services of all fire hydrants in the Township.

Water Source

The Parsippany - Troy Hills Water System is a groundwater- based system. Groundwater (or well water) is stored below the surface of the earth in large gravel deposits or deep porous rocks called aquifers. Groundwater is purified naturally as it filters through layers of soil, clay, rock and sand. This process known as “percolation” takes years to complete. As a result, Parsippany’s drinking water requires less treatment than surface water.

Water Quality

To ensure that the water serving our community is of the highest quality, Parsippany’s Water Department monitors and tests for physical, chemical, and bacterial contaminants in the water. The Water Department is not content with simply providing water to all of its residents and businesses. The Water Department is constantly improving the system to enhance the water quality, reinforce the supply of water and upgrade the distribution of water throughout the system.


eBill Notification for Water / Sewer Bills

The Township of Parsippany is pleased to announce the implementation of eBills for water and sewer. If you choose to participate, you will be notified by email when your bill is available for viewing. At that time, you will be provided with a link to access your account history for the past year, readings, usage and amount paid and due. You will continue to be able to pay online using our secure website, pay by mail or pay in-person.
